Once I went down for surg
ery, I was connected to an ECG machine in order for the anaesthetist to monitor my heart rate throughout the operation. My surgeon used a number of tools in order to reshape and shrink my hip - all through keyholes. He was able to transmit images to a screen in which he could see what was going on/what he was doing.

Up until this week, I hadn't really thought about the use of ICT within other situations other than at home or school, yet without it, there is no way I could have been monitored so successfully in hospital, or realised so quickly!
